Minister of State for Education Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh addressed the 5th GEF Summit on the theme "Internationalization of Indian Higher Education" organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi on 30th November 2022.
During the address, the Minister of State for Education Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh said that the globalization of education has transformed society into an information-based society. He added that there is a need to embrace the ancient Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam for the betterment of the whole world.
NEP 2020 policy is all about facilitating research & teaching collaborations, mutually beneficial MOUS with foreign countries, encouraging high-performing Indian universities to set up campuses in other countries, setting up of International Student Office at each Higher Education Institution (HEI) for welcoming and supporting students arriving from abroad, counting credits acquired in foreign universities, wherever appropriate as per requirement for each HEI and introducing courses in the subjects, such as Ideology, Indian Languages, AYUSH systems of medicines, yoga, arts etc. and it envisions India taking the role of Viswa Guru again. said, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
The government is proactive to achieve the above objectives enshrined in NEP 2020 and several initiatives have been taken.
Several initiatives have been taken to drive home the point that the present government is fully committed to the internationalization of Indian higher education and the Industry should feel assured in this regard. This initiative will benefit the industry by providing international quality research support and well-trained manpower locally.
