Nagpur: The All India Sainik Schools National Games 2024 commenced with great enthusiasm at Sainik School Chandrapur on Tuesday. The prestigious event, featuring cadets from 42 Sainik Schools nationwide, was inaugurated by Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, AVSM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Nagpur.
The inaugural ceremony saw Air Marshal Garg light the ceremonial Mashal, symbolizing the beginning of the much-awaited event. As colorful balloons filled the sky, they marked the spirit of unity and competition that the games aim to foster among the cadets.
With more than 500 cadets participating, the next 10 days will see a fierce yet friendly competition across various sports and cultural events. These games are designed to inspire excellence, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among the students, reinforcing the core values that Sainik Schools instill in their cadets.
Speaking at the ceremony, Air Marshal Garg emphasized the importance of physical fitness and discipline in shaping future leaders. He expressed confidence that the National Games would not only test the participants' athletic abilities but also strengthen their character and teamwork skills.
