The Indian Navy took part in the sea phase of Exercise La Pérouse, held from January 17 to 20, 2025, in the Indo-Pacific region. This multinational exercise brought together navies from India, France, Canada & the United Kingdom to work together and improve cooperation at sea.
India participated with its indigenous destroyer INS Mumbai and the advanced surveillance aircraft P8I. The training included various activities such as air defense drills, firing practice, boarding operations, landing helicopters on each other’s ships, and tactical tricks.
These trainings helped the navies improve teamwork, trust and coordination. They also showed the commitment of these nations to work together to keep the seas safe and secure.
The event included ships and aircraft from France, Canada, India, and the UK, showcasing the importance of international cooperation to protect the Indo-Pacific region. Exercise La Pérouse highlights how teamwork between countries is key to maintaining peace and safety at sea. (PR)
