On 28 October 2024, In a major significant boost to sports infrastructure in Mon District, Nagaland Smt. S. Phangnon Konyak, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha representing Nagaland, inaugurated a new football ground in Longkei Village. The inauguration marks an important development for the local community, aiming to promote sports and serve as a versatile venue for future events.
Addressing the gathering, MP Konyak expressed her optimism that the newly established ground will open doors for a wide range of community activities and inspire young athletes from the region. “This development will not only foster the spirit of sportsmanship but also provide a much-needed platform for aspiring sportspersons to explore their potential and strive for excellence,” she stated.
Konyak also extended her gratitude to the land donors, Village Council, and all the residents of Longkei for their commitment and support in making the project a reality.
