Shri Christopher Tilak, AICC Secretary in charge of Nagaland, along with officials from NPCC and DCC Kohima, recently visited Phek as part of a statewide tour aimed at strengthening the Congress party at the grassroots level.
During an interactive session, Shri Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, spoke about the need to build a strong party system to offer voters a reliable alternative in Nagaland. He explained that the tour is a way to identify and support promising leaders, especially at the grassroots level, to create a more effective and united party.
Shri Christopher Tilak shows that the Congress party has stood the test of time, overcoming challenges for over a century. He suggested the party’s recent success in the Nagaland elections as proof of its commitment to progress and inclusivity. He even spoke about the importance of countering the BJP’s divisive policies by promoting unity and development. Showcasing concerns over corruption in Nagaland, Shri Tilak stated that the Congress party is the only political force capable of ending the mismanagement and inefficiency of the current government.
Hon’ble MP and PCC President, Shri S. Supongmeren Jamir, also addressed the gathering, urging party members to focus on finding solutions rather than just pointing out problems. He acknowledged that the road to the 2028 elections would be challenging but expressed confidence that the people of Nagaland, frustrated with the current government’s failures, would support change.
The Congress party’s statewide tour continues, aiming to strengthen its network and prepare for the upcoming elections by engaging with local leaders and communities. (PR)
