BHARAT: Global humanitarian and spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, calling him “a deep believer and a traditionalist with a difference.”
In his official statement, Gurudev highlighted the Pope’s progressive approach and commitment to reform within the Church. “He was pro-reform and a passionate advocate of interfaith dialogue,” Gurudev said.
Acknowledging Pope Francis’s global influence, Gurudev praised his efforts in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges. “His concern for the environment and efforts against human trafficking are noteworthy. His call for greater understanding will continue to inspire his followers.”
Recalling the Pope’s message of goodwill, Gurudev also noted that an emissary from the Vatican had conveyed Pope Francis’s warm regards for the Art of Living during the World Culture Festival held in New Delhi and Washington, D.C.
