Nagaland has lost a towering political figure with the passing of former Minister and NDPP Treasurer Kejong Chang. He breathed his last in Dimapur today, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service spanning over two decades.
A six-time legislator, Chang was first elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1998. His repeated electoral victories reflected the deep trust and admiration he commanded among the people, particularly in the Chang community and beyond. Known for his simplicity and visionary leadership, he was deeply committed to uplifting marginalized sections of society and worked tirelessly for their welfare.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed profound grief over Chang’s demise, describing him as not just a colleague but an elder brother figure. In a condolence message, Rio highlighted Chang’s dedication to public service and his efforts in championing the cause of the underprivileged. “The emptiness created by his demise will be difficult to fill.
