A special program, "Rashtriya Kritagyata Evam Jagrookta Abhiyaan," was organized at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, to instill patriotism, gratitude and awareness among students and citizens. This event was a collaborative effort between the Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Kamrup (Metro), and the District Administration, Kamrup (Metro).
A total of 105 students and five teachers took part in the event, making it a memorable experience. The Chief Guest was Brigadier Abani Kumar Pait (Retd.), a respected veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The event was also attended by several notable figures, including Mr. Kankan Sarmah, SDO(S), Mr. Naresh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of KV Sangathan, Guwahati Region, along with the school’s Principal, Shri Purushottam Sinha, Vice Principal Shri Manoj Kumar Verma and Col Padmalochan Barman (Retd.), Welfare Officer, along with his team.
The event began with a warm welcome, followed by an engaging presentation by Col Padmalochan Barman, a war veteran of the Kargil conflict. His speech emphasized important themes such as putting the nation first, national unity, self-reliance (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), and digital progress. He also shared his personal experiences from the Kargil War, leaving the audience deeply inspired.
Brigadier Abani Kumar Pait (Retd.) delivered an encouraging speech. He recounted his experiences during the Indo-Pak War and highlighted the Armed Forces as a career choice. He urged students to show gratitude to the nation and recognize the sacrifices made by unsung heroes.
The program ended with a speech by Mr. Naresh Verma, Assistant Commissioner of KV Sangathan, Guwahati Region, followed by a vote of thanks from Principal Shri Purushottam Sinha. The event successfully promoted values of unity, integrity, and service to the nation, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
