Chinar Primary School (CPS), the primary wing of Sainik School Nagrota, hosted its Investiture Ceremony today in the school auditorium. The event saw the appointment of the new Student Council for the academic year 2023-24, with Dr. Namita Singh, Zonal Vice President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome extended to distinguished guests and parents by Mrs. Renu Devi, the Teacher In-Charge. Mrs. Devi highlighted recent developments at the school under the leadership of the newly appointed Chairman, Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia. The program featured cultural performances by students, adding a vibrant touch to the event.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of badges and sashes to the newly appointed Student Council members. Master Avish Raina and Miss Bhavika Suri were conferred with the titles of Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively, while the roles of Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl were awarded to Master Atharva Dhasmana and Miss Harshita Kar. House Captains and Vice Captains for Gandhi, Nehru, and Tagore Houses were also appointed.
Following the distribution of responsibilities, Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia administered the oath to the council members, officially inaugurating their leadership roles within the school.
A significant moment during the ceremony was the release of "Blossoms," the school journal for the 2023-24 academic session, by the Chief Guest and the Chairman. In her address, Dr. Namita Singh lauded the efforts of the teachers and school administration for their dedication to shaping the students into disciplined and responsible citizens. She emphasized the importance of inclusive education, urging the community to ensure a nurturing and supportive environment for all students.
