Indian Navy Vice Admiral V. Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, is on an official visit to Oman from 6th to 9th October 2024. This visit coincides with the deployment of the Indian Navy's First Training Squadron to Muscat.
During his visit, Vice Admiral Srinivas is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of Sultan's Armed Forces (COSSAF), and Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser bin Mohsen Al-Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (CRNO). The discussions will focus on enhancing defence cooperation between the two nations.
The Vice Admiral will also tour key defence and training installations in Oman as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman. The visit follows the 6th edition of Indian Navy and Royal Navy of Oman Staff Talks, which took place in New Delhi in June 2024. This ongoing dialogue and the Vice Admiral's visit signify the continued consolidation of bilateral relations in the defence sector.
