Africa: Kaamya Karthikeyan, a 12th-grade student at Navy Children School in Mumbai, has made history by becoming the youngest girl in the world to climb the highest mountains on all seven continents. This incredible achievement is called the Seven Summits Challenge, and Kaamya completed it with her latest climb in Antarctica.
Her journey started with Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. She then conquered Mount Elbrus in Europe, Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, Mount Aconcagua in South America, Mount Denali in North America, and Mount Everest in Asia. Finally, on December 24, 2024, at 5:20 PM Chilean Standard Time, Kaamya reached the top of Mount Vinson in Antarctica with her father, Commander S. Karthikeyan.
Kaamya’s achievement is truly inspiring. She has shown the world what can be achieved with hard work, courage, and support from loved ones. As the youngest girl to complete this challenge, she has become a role model for young people everywhere, encouraging them to dream big and never give up.
The Indian Navy has congratulated Kaamya and her father for their outstanding accomplishment. Their teamwork and determination have made the entire country proud.
