Muscat, Oman : Indian Naval Ships Tir and Shardul, along with Indian Coast Guard Ship “Veera”of the Indian Navy's First Training Squadron (1TS), arrived at Muscat, Oman, as part of a long-range training deployment. The visit highlights the strengthening of defence ties between India and Oman, particularly in the maritime domain.
The deployment, which runs from 5th to 9th October 2024, aims to enhance cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman. The visit will include joint exercises, harbour interactions, and professional exchanges, focusing on maritime security and improving interoperability. Additionally, friendly sports fixtures between the two navies are scheduled as part of fostering camaraderie.
This marks the third time in ten years that the First Training Squadron has visited Oman, reflecting the growing relationship between the two nations' naval forces. These interactions are viewed as crucial in reinforcing gains in naval cooperation and further strengthening existing partnerships.
