NAVAL HORIZON 2025: Combat Ready & Coordinated-Adm Tripathi Hails Indian Navy’s Operational Excellence and Tri Services Synergy

Phase II of the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2025 began in New Delhi with CNS Adm Dinesh K Tripathi emphasizing combat readiness, tech-driven modernization, and strategic engagement in the Indian Ocean Region. The CNS also released vital publications on naval operations, space vision, and post-retirement guidance.

New Delhi: Phase II of the First Edition of the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2025 commenced at Nausena Bhawan, New Delhi, with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), delivering the inaugural address to top commanders and staff from Naval and Command Headquarters.

Adm Tripathi lauded the Indian Navy’s consistent state of combat readiness, citing successful operational exercises, enhanced platform availability, and robust tri-services cooperation with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. He praised the Navy’s expanding contribution to the domestic shipbuilding sector and the growing ecosystem of innovation, urging further adaptation of emerging technologies to sculpt a “Future Ready Force.”

Reaffirming the Navy’s pivotal role in the Indian Ocean Region amid shifting geopolitical dynamics, the CNS called for a cohesive and credible maritime posture. He highlighted initiatives such as Operation Brahma and the deployment of IOS Sagar, flagged off during Phase I, as keystones of regional engagement and support to littoral nations.

In a strategic directive, Adm Tripathi emphasized sustained focus on seven priority areas:

  1. Warfighting & Combat Efficiency
  2. Force Levels & Capacity Development
  3. Fleet Maintenance & Operational Logistics
  4. Innovation & Tech Integration
  5. Balanced Workforce Development
  6. Operational Agility
  7. National Synergy

Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri also addressed the gathering, shedding light on the evolving global order and its cascading effects on international relations and security architectures.

During the conference, the CNS unveiled several key publications, including:

  1. Indian Navy’s Operational Data Framework
  2. Space Vision document
  3. Naval Aviation Safety guidelines
  4. A reference guide titled “Retirement & Life Beyond the Navy

These documents reflect the Navy’s forward-thinking doctrine and its commitment to a seamless transition for its personnel, both in service and beyond. (pr)
