Mauritius: Indian Navy ship INS Sarvekshak reached Port Louis, Mauritius, on December 26 to commence a Joint Hydrographic Survey, further strengthening the maritime cooperation between India and Mauritius. The vessel was warmly received by Shri Anurag Srivastava, High Commissioner of India to Mauritius, Captain CG Binoop, Commandant of the Mauritius National Coast Guard, and other civil and military dignitaries.
Following its arrival, a preliminary survey coordination meeting was held with the Hydrographic Survey Unit of Mauritius to align on the survey’s objectives and operational framework.
The survey, aimed at aiding Mauritius in developing maritime infrastructure, managing marine resources, and planning coastal development, marks a significant milestone in the growing maritime partnership between the two nations. INS Sarvekshak’s deployment also includes technical knowledge exchanges, professional interactions, and training sessions on hydrography, underscoring India’s commitment to fostering regional development.
This mission reflects India’s “Security And Growth for All in the Region” (SAGAR) vision, which prioritizes regional cooperation and sustainable development in the Indian Ocean region.
