The Government of India has invited 10,000 special guests from across the country to watch the Republic Day Parade 2025 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi on January 26, 2025. Among these guests, 36 individuals from Assam, North Bengal, Sikkim and Meghalaya have been selected to represent their regions and their contributions to Swarnim Bharat (Golden India).
The invited guests include women entrepreneurs, National Award winners and people who have benefited from government schemes. A special focus has been given to members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) who are working in areas like income generation, environmental protection, health, nutrition, sanitation and women’s empowerment. These individuals have made a big difference in their communities.
The government has made sure to invite people who have never visited Delhi before, giving them a chance to experience the Republic Day celebrations. Along with watching the parade, these guests will visit famous places in Delhi like the National War Memorial and the Prime Minister’s Museum (PM Sangrahalay). They will also meet with key government ministers to learn more about India's history and current government efforts.
The invitation of guests from the northeastern states highlights the important role they play in the country’s development. Their efforts in various areas, such as empowering women and supporting sustainable projects, are in line with the government’s goal of ensuring growth for all citizens.
