The Combined Annual Training Camp at the NCC Training Academy in Nagrota today, became a hub of learning and empowerment as cadets participated in a series of impactful sessions developed to boost awareness, sustainability, and personal commitment.

The camp, which sought to provide young cadets with basic life skills and abilities, featured passionate sessions on menstrual health, substance abuse prevention, and eco-friendly practices. The various range of topics sparked willingness and deep thinking among participants, promoting a sense of duty toward their health, society, and the environment.

A session on menstrual health and hygiene, led by Mr. Raman Singh and his team from Blessing Pads, proved to be a transformative experience for the cadets. Addressing both male and female participants, the session stressed the importance of menstrual well-being, the safe use of eco-conscious sanitary products, and breaking societal taboos surrounding menstruation. The discussion also underscored the importance of maintaining hygiene to stop infections and secure overall health.

The interactive session left cadets with a deeper knowledge of the topic and a dedication to advocate for menstrual health awareness in their society.

Another highlight of the camp was an eye-opening speech on substance abuse by Dr. Rachna Devi, Assistant Professor at PSPS GCW Gandhinagar. Dr. Devi shed light on the pervasive dangers of drug abuse, its devastating influence on individuals and families, and the ripple effect on society at large.

Her lecture motivated cadets to identify and fight peer pressure, prioritize their mental and physical health, and embrace preventive efforts to steer clear of substance abuse. The session echoed deeply, which empowered cadets with useful techniques to make educated decisions and build resilience.

Environmental consciousness took center stage with a session by Mr. Rajat Salgotra, CEO of Samast Eco Alternatives. He conveyed creative methods to handle waste and urged cadets to adopt eco-friendly methods. By showcasing innovative solutions such as handcrafted diyas and incense sticks made from biodegradable materials, Mr. Salgotra motivated cadets to view waste as a possibility for innovation and sustainability.

His spirited advocacy for environmental conservation left an everlasting imprint, encouraging cadets to contribute energetically to protect the planet.

The Nagrota camp acted as a rich melting pot of knowledge, empowering NCC cadets to take on leadership roles in promoting health, societal well-being, and environmental sustainability. The sessions echoed the Academy’s devotion to promote principled and visionary individuals equipped to address modern challenges.

With a renewed sense of purpose and a wealth of knowledge, the cadets left the camp inspired to make meaningful contributions to their communities and lead by example. (PR)
