Smt. S. Phangnon Konyak, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, representing Nagaland, participated in the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas 2024 celebrations organized by the Centre for Tribal Studies, University of Delhi. The event commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, honoring his enduring legacy and celebrating the contributions of India’s tribal communities.
Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlights the courage, culture, and heritage of tribal communities across India. Over the past decade, PM Modi’s efforts to uplift and recognize tribal culture have elevated their historical and cultural contributions to national prominence.
In her address, Smt. Konyak expressed gratitude to the Centre for Tribal Studies for the invitation and commended their efforts in promoting education and awareness about tribal history and culture. She emphasized her hope that the Centre will continue to serve as a hub of knowledge and inspiration for all.
