India’s Army has set up a field hospital in Mandalay to help people affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar. In just six days, the hospital has treated 859 patients, performed over 20 major surgeries, conducted 3,000 lab tests, and performed more than 300 X-rays—all while working in tough conditions.

On April 6, the hospital treated 141 patients, admitted 44 for further care, and discharged 6 after recovery. Doctors also performed 33 minor surgeries, 1 major operation, 546 lab tests, and 103 X-rays on the same day.

Myanmar’s Prime Minister and Army Chief, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, visited the hospital to meet patients and doctors. He expressed sadness over the damage caused by the earthquake and thanked the Indian government and people for their quick and kind help.

The Indian Army says their mission is based on the idea of Sarve Santu Niramayah, which means "May all be free from illness." The hospital is not just providing medical care — it is also showing India’s friendship and support for Myanmar in a difficult time.

India’s efforts continue to bring hope and healing to those in need. (PR)
