Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized the importance of cultivating Future Strategic Leaders capable of swift decision-making in an increasingly technology-driven combat environment, where time constraints are becoming more pronounced.

Speaking at the conclusion of the inaugural Tri Services Future Warfare Course on September 27, 2024, the CDS pointed out that technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Stealth Technology, Hypersonic, and Robotics will significantly influence the nature of future conflicts.

The evolving security landscape, characterized by the rapid growth of specialized technologies and lessons learned from recent and ongoing conflicts, demands that future leaders understand the complexities of modern warfare. To address this need, the course concentrated on critical topics pertinent to future combat, including emerging trends, air and space warfare, non-kinetic operations, maritime strategies, and multi-domain engagements. 

Among the key outcomes were the development of integrated operational concepts, enhanced joint force capabilities, innovative technologies for future battlefields, and strengthened collaboration among the three military branches. These elements are designed to empower participants to effectively lead and navigate the future of warfare, ensuring a cohesive response to new challenges.

General Anil Chauhan, along with the Vice Chiefs from all three services, received a briefing on the week-long course results and engaged in discussions regarding future iterations of the program.

Notably, the course was inclusive, accommodating participants with service experience ranging from 13 to 30 years, and was personally championed by the Chief of Defence Staff. The Future Warfare Course aims to establish a cadre of tech-savvy military leaders capable of addressing the intricacies of the modern battlefield.
