The 192nd Raksha Pension Samadhan Aayojan (RPSA) was successfully completed at the Narangi Military Station, Guwahati, on November 27-28, 2024, to address pension-related grievances of Defence Pensioners and Defence civilians. The occasion was organized by Headquarters 51 Sub Area in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) (Pensions), Prayagraj.
The RPSA was inaugurated on November 27 at Brahmaputra Hall by Shri Sandeep Sarkar, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), and Major General RD Sharma, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 51 Sub Area. Prominent attendees included the CDA Guwahati, Director Rajya Sainik Board, and a significant presence of veterans.
In this welfare scheme, financial aid was extended to nine non-pensioner veterans by the Indian Army, reflecting its commitment to veteran welfare.
A team of 15 officers from PCDA (Pensions) facilitated the two-day event, offering veterans a personalized forum to settle pension-related grievances. Pressing issues, including data corrections in Pension Orders, payment of pension and OROP arrears, restoration of commuted pensions, and granting of family pensions, were handled on the spot. Unresolved cases were documented for timely resolution.
The occasion saw participation from over 500 veterans, Veer Naris, and their families from Guwahati, Tezpur, Nagaon, and Bongaigaon, with veterans from Bomdila joining via video conferencing. Support from the Assam Regimental Centre, 58 GTC Shillong Records Office, SPARSH service centres, and SBI CPPC Guwahati provided complete assistance to attendees.
The RPSA marked an important step in ensuring the well-being and dignity of the Defence fraternity, reflecting the commitment of the Indian Armed Forces to its veterans. (PR)
