Air Marshal Surat Singh, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Eastern Air Command, made an official visit to Air Force Station Jorhat in Assam on 29 October. He was welcomed by Air Commodore R Arvind, Air Officer Commanding of AF Station Jorhat, and Air Commodore Sunil Agrawal, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Hospital Jorhat.
During his visit, the AOC-in-C was briefed on the base’s operational, maintenance, and administrative readiness, as well as on infrastructure development projects currently underway. His visit also coincided with Diwali, allowing him to participate in the festive celebrations with the Air Warriors of the Station on 30 October. Personnel from remote Advance Landing Grounds were present for the celebrations, creating a unique opportunity for camaraderie and morale-boosting interactions.
Air Marshal Singh expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness, morale, and dedication of the stationed personnel. In his address, he encouraged them to remain vigilant and prepared to tackle future challenges. He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the families of the Air Warriors, recognizing their essential role in supporting the men and women of the Air Force.
The celebrations were a significant morale booster, offering Air Warriors serving in isolated locations a chance to connect with their commander, fostering a sense of unity and lifting spirits during the festive season.(pr)
