India and Indonesia have signed an agreement to improve the quality of traditional medicine. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged on January 25, 2025, at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Mr. Prabowo Subianto.
The agreement was made between the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homeopathy (PCIM&H) under the Ministry of Ayush and the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority. It aims to provide traditional medicine in both countries that is safe and effective.
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, said, "This partnership will make traditional medicine safer and more effective, creating a better and more organized system."

The Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, said, "This agreement will help share knowledge and improve traditional medicine. The PCIM&H sets standards for Indian medicine and homeopathy, and this partnership will benefit everyone in this field."
This MoU shows that traditional medicine is gaining global recognition. India and Indonesia, both rich in traditional healing practices, are leading the way in combining traditional and modern healthcare.
