Cadets from Sainik School Nagrota made a mark at the All India IPSC Athletics Championship 2024, showcasing exceptional skills and determination at the prestigious event hosted by Punjab Public School, Nabha, from November 3rd to 7th. Competing against top schools from across the country, the cadets returned victorious with a collection of medals and high placements in several track and field events.
The school’s 20-member team faced tough competition from elite institutions like The Doon School, YPS Mohali, Daly College Indore, Welham Boys, and Motilal Nehru Sports School, Rai.
Rising to the challenge, Sainik School Nagrota cadets stood out with the following notable performances:
- 3000 Meter Run: Cadet Vibhum Pandey clinched Gold, while Cadet Raghav Chib finished 4th.
- High Jump: Cadet Shubham Sudan won the Gold medal.
- Cross Country: Cadet Raghav Chib secured another Gold.
- 110 Meter Hurdles: Cadet Priyanshu finished in 4th place.
- 800 Meter Run: Cadet Vibhum Pandey earned the Silver medal, with Cadet Shaurya Prathap Singh finishing 4th.
- Hammer Throw: Cadet Upkar Shukla took home the Bronze medal.
These achievements reflect the rigorous training and perseverance that Sainik School Nagrota instills in its cadets. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia expressed pride in the cadets' accomplishments, commending their hard work and determination at one of the highest levels of competitive athletics in India.
