The Indian Army has set up an open-air gym at Leimakhong Bazaar under Operation Sadbhavana on March 26, 2025, to promote health and fitness in the local community. This gym will help people stay fit and active, addressing the need for more fitness facilities in the area.
The gym has various modern exercise machines, including an Air Walker, Double Elliptical Trainer, two Single Chest Press machines, two Single Shoulder Press machines, a Sit-Up Trainer, and an Arms and Pedal Cycle. These machines will help people improve their fitness and stay healthy.
Many important people from the community attended the opening event, including the Chief of Hengjang Villages & Chairman of LAPC, Chairperson LAPC, Chairman Leimakhong Hill Town, and Vice Chairman Leimakhong Hill Town. Young people preparing for Agniveer military recruitment training were also present, showing how useful the gym will be for fitness and training.
This gym is part of the Indian Army’s efforts to support local communities through Operation Sadbhavana. It is expected to become a popular place for people to exercise and will also help build a strong connection between the Army and the people of Manipur. (PR)
