In an inspiring convergence of innovation and agriculture, Shhroomi Farms Pvt. Ltd. was officially launched on 24th April 2025 at the ZTM & BPD Unit of ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. The event brought together agri-entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers under one roof to witness a new chapter in organic farming—rooted in mushrooms.
The launch ceremony was graced by Shri K. Moses Chalai, IAS, Secretary at the Interstate Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, who attended as the Chief Guest. The program began with a heartfelt invocation by Rev. Dr. N Ricky Medom, followed by a compelling address from co-founder Dr. Gloria Nyenthang, who presented a visionary overview of what Shhroomi Farms aims to achieve.
Founded by Dr. Thochi Sep, Dr. Gloria Nyenthang, and Mr. Yithule Krichina, and incubated at ICAR-IARI, Shhroomi Farms is not just another agri-startup—it is a community-focused initiative that merges sustainability with entrepreneurship. With a strong emphasis on local livelihood generation, the project promotes organic mushroom cultivation as a future-ready, environmentally responsible farming model.
Speaking at the event, the dignitaries praised the initiative’s potential to inspire a new generation of farmers and changemakers. Dr. Akriti Sharma, one of the core minds behind the startup, emphasized the importance of innovative approaches in agriculture that are both scalable and sustainable.
