The Indian Army recently organized a relief distribution event to support the residents of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Mongkot Chepu, located in the Ukhrul district of Manipur. This initiative aimed to help underprivileged families that have been struggling due to displacement. Senior Army officers and the Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ashish Das, attended the event to show their support for the cause.
As part of the relief efforts, the Army distributed essential items such as school bags, solar lights, and hygiene kits. These supplies are expected to make a positive difference in the daily lives of the displaced families, especially students and women. The event began with a welcome and keynote speech by Mr. Hanoe Baite, General Secretary of the Kuki Students’ Organization (KSO) Ukhrul. He spoke about the importance of such initiatives and how they bring hope to needy people.
In addition to distributing supplies, the Army officers took time to interact with the camp residents and other locals. They encouraged them to stay strong and determined despite the hardships they face. Their words of encouragement aimed to boost the morale of the displaced families, giving them hope for a better future.
The event saw the participation of over 180 people, including camp residents and local community members. Many of them expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Army for their generous support.
