Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, interacted with officers and sailors of the Eastern Fleet today during his visit to Visakhapatnam. The engagement served as an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the fleet and reinforce the Navy’s operational priorities.
In his address, the Admiral praised the fleet-often referred to as the Sunrise Fleet-for maintaining a high operational tempo while ensuring safety at sea. He spoke about the current security environment and encouraged personnel to remain ready for any operational challenges that may arise.
The interaction wasn’t limited to strategic issues. The Admiral also spoke candidly about training, motivation, wellness, and the importance of staying mentally and physically fit. He reminded everyone of the significance of cyber hygiene, information security, and road safety-highlighting that discipline and awareness off-duty are just as important as performance on-duty.
He urged the fleet to continue striving for professional excellence and to uphold the values that define the Indian Navy. “Stay focused, stay sharp, and keep learning,” he said, adding that every sailor and officer plays a role in building a force that is Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive, and Future Ready.
