Assam has secured the 3rd position for Excellence in Display for thematic exhibition at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. The award was presented to Assam's Pavilion Director, Debajit Phukan, by Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
An ecstatic Phukan expressed his pride, stating, "It’s a moment of great honor for the Assam Pavilion to win the 3rd place for Excellence in Display, earning a bronze medal at the 43rd IITF 2024". The Assam Pavilion, which displayed a diverse range of products, attracted considerable attention from visitors, entrepreneurs, and delegates, with both domestic and international buyers placing orders and making purchases.
The Pavilion made an impressive revenue of Rs. 34.40 lakh during the fair. It featured a vast array of products from various sectors, including handicrafts, technology, terracotta, agriculture, textiles, and food processing. Special attention was given to Agar and its derivative products, while traditional handicrafts like terracotta and hyacinth caught the eyes of many visitors.
Phukan also highlighted the success of products from initiatives such as One District, One Product (ODOP) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which were particularly well-received by buyers.
The 43rd edition of IITF 2024 ended successfully, marking another significant achievement for Assam in the national trade and industry landscape. (PR)
