Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss ways to improve rail connectivity in Assam. The meeting, held at Parliament House, focused on expanding the railway network and introducing new trains to link Assam with major cities and growth centers across the country.
Dr. Sarma highlighted the importance of better rail services to encourage Assam’s development and make travel easier for people. He requested the Railway Minister to add more trains that would connect Assam with key regions, helping improve trade, tourism, and overall connectivity.
During the meeting, the CM also invited the Union Minister to attend the Advantage Assam Summit in 2025. This summit is a key event aimed at attracting investment and showcasing Assam’s growth potential.
Later, Dr. Sarma shared details of the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “It is always an enriching experience to meet Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji. During our meeting in New Delhi today, I extended an invitation to him to attend the #AdvantageAssam Summit in 2025.”
He added, “We had a detailed discussion about improving rail connectivity in Assam. I requested the Hon’ble Minister to introduce more trains connecting Assam to major growth centers across the country.”
