Christopher Tilak, AICC Secretary in charge of Nagaland, alongside S. Supongmeren Jamir, Hon'ble MP and PCC President, and other prominent party leaders, including Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, met with officials of the Wokha District Congress Committee (DCC) at Congress Bhavan in Wokha today. The meeting, attended by party functionaries and supporters, focused on strengthening the Congress party organization, addressing political challenges, and mobilizing leadership at the grassroots level within the district.

Christopher Tilak Highlights Key Political Aspects

During his address, Christopher Tilak emphasized the importance of action in politics, drawing a parallel between Mahatma Gandhi’s nationwide mobilization efforts and Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is connecting with the masses. Tilak stressed the need for four key elements in politics: a strong narrative, effective leadership, a robust organizational structure, and active fieldwork. He further highlighted the necessity for the party to communicate a clear and powerful message to the people of Nagaland and to have leaders capable of effectively delivering that message.

Criticism of BJP’s Leadership and Focus on Accountability

Tilak also took the opportunity to criticize the BJP for misleading the people of Nagaland, pointing out its failure to address issues like employment and development. He urged Congress party workers to engage with voters based on principles of truth, accountability, and transparency, calling for a strong, honest connection with the people.

S. Supongmeren Jamir Discusses Party Restructuring

S. Supongmeren Jamir, Hon'ble MP and PCC President, addressed the importance of electing capable leaders within the party, particularly among PCC members, as they play a crucial role at the constituency level. Jamir assured that the ongoing restructuring of the party is aimed at revitalizing Congress in Nagaland. He acknowledged that while the restructuring process might lead to misunderstandings, the party’s leadership decisions will be based on merit and capability, ensuring that no one is left behind.

NPCC Working President Theunuo Outlines Election Strategy

Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, spoke about the party’s preparation for the 2028 elections under the "Roadmap 2025-26," a plan that has received recognition from Rahul Gandhi. Theunuo reaffirmed the commitment of the Congress party to serve the people of Nagaland, stating that the ongoing statewide tour program is part of a broader effort to connect with the people and address their concerns in the lead-up to the next election cycle.
