Arjuna Awards 2024: Paralympian H. Hokato Sema Turns Tragedy into Triumph, Wins After Bringing Glory to India with Two Medals

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the Arjuna Award 2024 to Shri H. Hokato Sema from Nagaland for his remarkable achievements in Para Athletics. Despite losing his left leg in a landmine blast during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir in 2002, Shri Sema displayed extraordinary resilience and went on to win a bronze medal in Men’s Shot Put (F57) at both the Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris and the Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou.
