Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, visited Rajouri to strengthen civil-military relations and acknowledge the crucial role of local communities and veterans in maintaining peace in the region.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sachdeva praised the strong partnership between civilians and security forces, especially in the sensitive border areas of Rajouri and Poonch. He highlighted the Indian Army’s expanded presence, including its strategic positions in the Pir Panjal Range, and its close collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and local administration. He also credited veterans and local leaders for their contributions to improved security.
The GOC recognized the Ace of Spades Division for building trust through welfare programs and community engagement. "The coordination between the military and civilians has been key to creating stability," he noted.
Lt Gen Sachdeva also attended the Mendhar Cricket Premier League (MCPL) felicitation ceremony, applauding the youth for using sports to promote unity and positive energy in the community.
He stressed the Army’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with locals, ensuring greater trust and cooperation. He met with veterans, thanking them for their vital role in maintaining peace and bridging the gap between military and civilian communities.
