The successful conclusion of the third edition of
the India-Australia joint military exercise, AUSTRAHIND 2024, held at the
Foreign Training Node in Aundh, Pune, is a proud moment for India. This
two-week-long intensive exercise, which commenced on November 8, 2024, not only
strengthened the bilateral military relationship between India and Australia
but also showcased India's growing stature as a global defense leader committed
to peace and stability.
The Closing Ceremony was graced by Major General
KTG Krishnan, General Officer Commanding, 36 RAPID, and Major General David
Thomae, Commander, 2nd Australian Division. Both dignitaries commended the
professionalism, dedication, and camaraderie demonstrated by the participating
contingents. Major General Krishnan highlighted the exercise as a testament to
India's commitment to maintaining international military cooperation and
enhancing global security.
AUSTRAHIND 2024, marked by rigorous training
sessions and simulated operations, underscored India's ability to lead and
collaborate on advanced military tactics. The validation exercise, which
included creating a Temporary Operating Base, heliborne operations, and hostage
