Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had a busy day in New Delhi on 4 December, where he met several key Union Ministers to discuss important issues and extend invitations to the Advantage Assam Summit 2025.
One of the important meetings was with Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, at Parliament House. Dr. Sarma discussed ways to encourage Assam’s hydrocarbon industry and pursued the Union Minister’s support to fully harness its potential. After the meeting, he shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Held an excellent meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri ji. I invited him to join us in the #AdvantageAssam Summit 2025 and also sought his assistance to strengthen and harness the full potential of Assam’s hydrocarbon industry.”
The meeting was also attended by Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs, along with senior officials from both the state and central governments.
Later in the day, Dr. Sarma met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Parliament House. He praised Birla’s leadership and commitment to upholding parliamentary traditions. On X, Dr. Sarma wrote, “As Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri @ombirlakota ji has always displayed distinguished leadership and commitment to upholding parliamentary traditions. It was a pleasure meeting him in Sansad Bhawan today.”
Earlier, Dr. Sarma had also visited Union Minister for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, at his official residence. Thanking Meghwal for his hospitality, he posted, “Grateful for the hospitality extended by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @arjunrammeghwal Ji at his residence in New Delhi today.”
These meetings reflected Assam’s efforts to maintain relations with the central government and seek support for its development initiatives.
