Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) on 19 February 2025, highlighting its important role in shaping future military leaders. The commandant, faculty, and cadets gave him a warm welcome and full military honours.
During his visit, Gen Chauhan interacted with cadets and faculty, learning about the training programs, academic courses and leadership development at the institution. Speaking to the cadets, he praised RIMC for producing outstanding military officers and highlighted the values of discipline, integrity and service to the nation.
He encouraged cadets to stay updated with technological advancements, think strategically, and adapt to modern security challenges. He appreciated RIMC’s balanced approach of combining modern education with military traditions to prepare cadets for the future.
Gen Chauhan also explored the Somnath Resource Centre & Museum, which showcases RIMC’s history and its alumni’s contributions to the defense forces. He showed interest in the exhibits, reflecting on the achievements of RIMC-trained officers in various military operations. As a symbol of growth and resilience, he planted a tree on campus.
The visit ended with cadets expressing their gratitude for his motivating words and reaffirming their commitment to upholding RIMC’s values and traditions.
