The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is taking part in Aero India 2025 from February 10-14 at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru. This event shows India’s growth in defence technology and innovation.
One of the main attractions is the full-scale model of India’s first 5.5 Generation stealth fighter jet, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). Displayed at the India Pavilion, it showcases India’s push for self-reliance in defence under the Make-in-India initiative.
Along with AMCA, DRDO is exhibiting 16 other advanced defence technologies, such as the Twin Engine Deck-Based Fighter (TEDBF), LCA Mk-2 Model, Advanced Lightweight Torpedo and Naval Anti-Ship Missile - Medium Range. The indoor exhibition in Hall-D features over 330 defence developments in nine themed sections across 14 technology zones.
The outdoor collection includes large models of important defence equipment like the QRSAM Mobile Launcher Vehicle, Akash NG Launcher, Archer UAV, and upgraded Dornier aircraft with better avionics, fuel efficiency and radar systems.
DRDO is hosting a seminar titled ‘DRDO Industry Synergy towards Viksit Bharat: Make in India - Make for World’ on February 11. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will open the event, discussing policies to increase defence exports and industry partnerships. DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V Kamat will lead a forum discussion on how industries can support defence exports and innovation.
On February 12, the Department of Defence Production (DDP) will hold a special event, ‘SAMARTHYA’, to celebrate Indian achievements in defence technology. Five DRDO-developed effects will be highlighted and the key supporters will be marked by the Defence Minister.
Ahead of Aero India 2025, DRDO and the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) organized the 15th Biennial Aero India International Seminar on February 8-9. The seminar focused on future aerospace technologies, military airworthiness, and certification challenges, bringing together experts to discuss key developments in the field.
DRDO’s participation in Aero India 2025 reflects India’s commitment to self-reliance in defence technology. By providing the armed forces with cutting-edge iIndigenousequipment, DRDO is helping strengthen India’s position in global aerospace and defence innovation. (PR)
