In a comforting step towards empowering the families of India’s brave soldiers, a special digital skilling program was launched in Udhampur. The industry, led by Mrs. Asha Suchindra (Regional President of AWWA Northern Command), Mrs. Joyshree Das Verma (National President of FICCI-FLO), Ms. Reshma Patel (National Head of Digital Literacy Initiative), and Mrs. Ruchika Gupta (Chairperson of FICCI-FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh), aims to provide skills and opportunities for financial independence to 100 Veer Naris and AWWA inheritors.
The program is designed to help participants learn new skills that can lead to better livelihood opportunities. It offers a mix of pre-recorded lessons and live sessions, making it easy and flexible for women to learn at their own pace. Once they complete the course, they will receive a certificate recognized by Skill India and the National Skill Development Corporation. This certification will give them credibility and access to government schemes, along with better job opportunities.
During the launch, Mrs. Joyshree Das Verma praised FICCI-FLO JK&L for leading this meaningful initiative, especially for the Veer Naris. She emphasized how FICCI-FLO is committed to helping women who face challenges, and how their courage and strength are a true inspiration. “FLO is dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods for these women, as a tribute to their sacrifices,” she said.
Mrs. Aarti Monga, General Secretary of AWWA Northern Command, also thanked FICCI-FLO for its support and highlighted the program’s potential to bring real change. “This initiative is not just about giving hope, but also providing clear pathways to financial independence,” she said.
Mrs. Ruchika Gupta shared that the program helps participants gain skills to either start their own businesses or find better jobs. She also mentioned the ongoing partnership between FICCI-FLO and AWWA to honor and support the families of soldiers who sacrifice so much for the country.
As part of the event, 100 HUNAR skilling kits were handed out to the beneficiaries. The event was attended by important members of FICCI-FLO, including Varuna Anand (Immediate Past Chair), Aarti Choudhary (Senior Vice Chairperson), Sona Mehta (Treasurer), and Nandita Bajaj (Joint Treasurer), along with many other dedicated FLO members.
This program is a significant step forward in supporting military families, empowering women to become self-sufficient, and creating brighter futures for their communities.(PR)
