The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC J-10), commenced at NCC Training Academy, Nagrota, Jammu, on Nov 8, 2024. The camp is being organized by 2 J&K Girls Bn, under the aegis of NCC Directorate of Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh. The duration of the camp is up to 17 Nov 2024. 450 cadets comprising both boys as well as girls from Junior Division/Wing as well as Senior Division/Wing, drawn from five districts viz., Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, and Bhaderwah are part of the camp.
The objective of the camp is holistic development of the student cadets by engaging them in a comprehensive range of activities, viz., Basic Military Training like drill, map reading and firing, educational visits, motivational lectures, cultural activities, Yoga, etc., with a view to enhance the 10 core values of the NCC.
These activities are designed to test and enhance physical endurance, mental agility and teamwork while promoting patriotism, a healthy lifestyle involving physical exercise, a balanced diet and providing an immersive cultural experience.
One of the major highlights of this camp is the Super 30 SSB capsule in which promising cadets are being trained for facing Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews, which is the final selection step to get into the Armed Services.
The camp complements the NCC curriculum with focus on comprehensive training and character development, aiming to build a strong foundation of leadership and teamwork among the nation’s youth. (PR)
