Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha Honors J&K & Ladakh NCC Cadets for Republic Day Triumph!

The cadets then presented a vibrant cultural program, which included a group song and a spirited dance titled "Hum Ek Hain Hum Shreshta Hain," symbolizing India’s unity.

The Raj Bhawan in Jammu was filled with pride as Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, hosted the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Republic Day Contingent (RDC) 2025. These cadets, who represented the region at the Republic Day Camp in Delhi, were honored for their dedication and success.
The event began with an interactive session on the Raj Bhawan lawn, where Shri Manoj Sinha spoke with the cadets, listened to their experiences, and praised them for making Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh proud.
The cadets presented a cultural program featuring a group song and an energetic dance titled Hum Ek Hain Hum Shreshta Hain, celebrating India’s unity. Two cadets shared their inspiring stories about their Republic Day training, highlighting the role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in shaping young leaders.
Shri Manoj Sinha awarded Certificates of Excellence to outstanding cadets. The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh RDC Contingent also won several awards:
JUO Abida Afreen received the Raksha Mantri Commendation Card for her excellent performance. She has also been selected to climb Mt. Everest this year.
SUO Ekta Kumari was chosen as the Contingent Commander for the All India NCC Girls Contingent and led the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavyapath. She was praised by the President of India and received the DG NCC Commendation Card.
Cadet Alankrita (APS, Udhampur), ANO Lt Nitika Kundan (NIT, Srinagar), and Second Officer Ashaq Hussain (GHS, Machail) earned DG NCC Commendation Cards for their contributions.
Additionally, one officer, one JCO, and eight cadets received DG NCC Medallions for their exceptional performance.
To mark the occasion, Maj Gen A. Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate, presented a memento to Shri Manoj Sinha as a token of appreciation for his support of NCC activities.
In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor praised the cadets for their discipline and dedication. He emphasized the NCC’s role in building responsible citizens and gave special recognition to SUO Ekta Kumari for bringing great pride to Jammu & Kashmir.
Shri Manoj Sinha also shared five important resolutions for the cadets to follow in their journey of leadership and service:
Development: How can Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh grow quickly and sustainably?
Better Society: How can we improve the quality of life for people?
Responsibility: How can NCC values help build a responsible society?
Progress: How can we create a more inclusive and forward-thinking community?
Participation: How can everyone be involved in the nation’s development through NCC?
The event ended with a strong sense of pride and inspiration. This celebration not only honored the cadets’ achievements but also reinforced the importance of NCC in shaping future leaders. (PR)
