Nigeria-INS Tushil, the Indian Navy’s modern guided missile stealth ship, arrived in Lagos, Nigeria as part of its ongoing deployment to the Gulf of Guinea. This visit aims to strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between the navies of India and Nigeria.
The ship was welcomed warmly into Lagos harbour by a Nigerian naval ship, senior Nigerian Navy officers, officials from the Indian High Commission and members of the Indian community living in Lagos.
Captain Peter Varghese, the Commanding Officer of INS Tushil, will meet with senior Nigerian Navy leaders, including Rear Admiral MG Oamen, who is in charge of the Western Naval Command. Their discussions will focus on working together more closely and sharing knowledge between the two navies.
During its time in Lagos, INS Tushil will take part in various activities to strengthen cooperation. These include:
Joint training and exercises with the Nigerian Navy.
A medical camp was organized to support the local community with help from the Indian High Commission and Indian pharmaceutical companies.
