Major General Anupinder Bevli, Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC, visited the NCC Headquarters Jammu Group to assess the procedures and systems in place for the NCC curriculum. The inspection aimed to ensure that the training being provided is efficient and effective.
During his visit, Major General Anupinder Bevli praised the hard work of the officers, endless instructors, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), and civilian staff. He highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards and encouraged everyone to continue their dedication to achieving the NCC’s goals.
Brigadier PS Cheema, the Commander of NCC Group Jammu, gave a briefing to Major General Bevli, with all Commanding Officers of the Jammu Group’s NCC Units present. Major General Anupinder Bevli took the opportunity to address an important issue – the performance of some institutes. He directed that notices be sent to non-performing institutes that have failed to meet their commitments, particularly those who have not nominated ANOs/CTOs or filled necessary vacancies. He requested that the list of these institutes be shared with the Department of Higher Education for further action.
Major General Anupinder Bevli pointed out that the lack of commitment from these institutes is limiting opportunities for others on the waitlist, who are eagerly waiting to be included in the NCC program. He also highlighted that this issue affects the overall performance of the NCC, especially in competitions like the Republic Day Camp (RDC) Banner.
The General highlighted the importance of training at all levels and the need for accountability from both ANOs and permanent instructors in maintaining the quality of training.
Before concluding his inspection, Major General Anupinder Bevli assured support for the NCC Group Headquarters and all the units, including the newly raised 6 J&K BN NCC and 1 J&K Air Sqn NCC at Udhampur, expressing confidence in their role in strengthening the NCC presence in the region. (PR)
