Security forces in Mizoram stopped a vehicle carrying a huge amount of explosives on the Aizawl-Sairang road. The Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police set up a check post in Edenthar on January 31 after receiving information about the illegal transport of explosives.
During the inspection, they found 800 suspected detonators labeled CDET ALFA from a company in Wardha, Maharashtra. They also recovered 2,000 suspected gelatin sticks weighing 250 kg (packed in 10 boxes) from a company in Nagpur.
The seized explosives have been handed over to the Mizoram Police for investigation. Authorities are now trying to find out where these explosives came from, where they were going, and if they were meant for illegal activities.
Security forces have assured that they will continue to take strict action to stop illegal activities and ensure public safety. The investigation is still ongoing.(PR)
