Army Public School (APS) Kaluchak has proudly secured 2nd place at the National Innovation Award 2024, held at the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET). The school was awarded ₹5100 for their innovative project, OPTINAV, which was entered in the ‘Communication’ category.
OPTINAV is a unique project that aims to improve underwater communication using laser beams. This new idea has the potential to greatly enhance naval communication in the future. The project, created by two Class 11 students, Abhishek Chahal and Dhruv Sharma, impressed the judges with its originality and promise.
The event saw participation from over 240 teams from colleges and universities across India, making the competition tough. Despite this, APS Kaluchak stood out, showing that school students can compete at a high level and come up with creative and practical solutions.
The award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS, former Lt. Governor of Puducherry, which made the achievement even more special. This victory highlights APS Kaluchak’s commitment to encouraging creativity and excellence in science and technology among its students, inspiring them to pursue STEM fields on a national and global scale.
