In a solemn and heart-wrenching moment, the mortal remains of Late Tage Hailyang, a brave soul from Arunachal Pradesh who tragically lost his life in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, were received in his hometown at the stroke of midnight yesterday.
Hailing from the picturesque state of Arunachal Pradesh, Late Tage Hailyang had journeyed to Jammu & Kashmir in search of livelihood and better opportunities. His untimely and tragic demise in the cowardly terror attack has sent shockwaves across the state, leaving his family, friends, and the larger community in deep sorrow.
Local residents gathered in large numbers at the airport and along the route to his native village, paying their respects with folded hands and moist eyes. Arunachal Pradesh leaders, civil society members, and youth organisations have strongly condemned the terror act and called for justice for innocent civilians targeted in such attacks.
State officials were present to receive the body, and arrangements were made for a dignified and respectful ceremony. The tricolour was draped over the coffin, symbolising the nation’s salute to an innocent life lost to terrorism.
Chief Minister and Members of the Legislative Assembly have extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. In a joint statement, they assured all possible support and urged the Centre to ensure that such heinous acts do not go unpunished.
The state government has also proposed a financial relief package for the family of Late Tage Hailyang and pledged to explore avenues to support, especially the education of his younger siblings, if any.
As Arunachal Pradesh stands united in grief, Late Tage Hailyang is being remembered not just as a victim, but as a symbol of resilience and the silent sacrifice of many from the Northeast who contribute tirelessly across the country.
