The Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will organize Youth Parliament Competitions in schools, colleges, and universities across India, in collaboration with local organizations. These competitions will be held for different groups, including schools under the Directorate of Education of Delhi, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and colleges/universities.
The Ministry will also provide financial support to states and union territories (UTs) to help them organize Youth Parliament events. The amount of financial help depends on the number of members in each state’s legislature:
States with up to 100 members: ₹3 lakh per year
States with 100 to 200 members: ₹4 lakh per year
States with more than 200 members: ₹5 lakh per year
UTs without a legislature: ₹2 lakh per year
Additionally, a special online portal for the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) allows all educational institutions in India to register and organize their own Youth Parliament events.
This information was shared by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Law and Justice and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today. (PR)
