A free eye surgery camp started at Military Hospital Jaipur on Monday to help veterans and their families. This special camp, organized by the Indian Army, aims to provide free eye check-ups, cataract surgeries, and medicines to those who serve the nation.
The camp was inaugurated by Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, along with Mrs Barinderjit Kaur, Regional President, AWWA, Sapta Shakti Command. It will run for four days, from February 24 to 28.
A team of expert eye doctors, led by Brig Sanjay Kumar Mishra, will perform the surgeries. He is a senior eye specialist from the Army Medical Corps (AMC) and Head of the Eye Department at R&R Hospital, Delhi. Other doctors in the team include Lt Col Ishan Agarwal, Lt Col Ravi Chauhan, and Maj Amrita Joshi.
The team will perform over 300 cataract surgeries and give free spectacles, medicines, and eye check-ups to ensure good vision health for the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the event, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh said that the camp was planned to help veterans improve their eyesight. He also expressed confidence that this effort would bring great benefits to retired soldiers and their families.
This camp is part of the Indian Army’s commitment to caring for its veterans. Under the slogan "Har Kaam Desh Ke Naam", it shows the Army’s dedication not just to national defense but also to the well-being of those who served. (PR)
