Congress leaders gathered at Congress Bhawan in Imphal to highlight key issues affecting Manipur. The press conference was led by Shri Okram Ibobi Singh, former Chief Minister and leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).
Joined by other senior leaders, including Shri Keisham Meghachandra Singh (Manipur Congress President) and Shri K. Ranjit Singh (Deputy CLP Leader), the team raised serious concerns about the delay in notifying the Winter Session of the state assembly.
The leaders explained that the assembly holds three sessions annually—Winter, Budget, and Autumn. However, with only nine days left in December, the government has yet to announce the Winter Session. Rules require a 15-day notice for such sessions, making the delay a clear failure of responsibility.
“This delay weakens the democratic process and raises questions about the government’s efficiency,” said Shri Ibobi Singh.
In addition to this, the Congress team criticized the government’s handling of key issues affecting the state, from poor administration to ignoring the needs of the people.
The leaders assured the public that Congress remains committed to standing up for the welfare of Manipur’s citizens. They promised to address pressing issues and work towards building a stronger and more accountable government.
The event highlighted Congress’s focus on transparency, governance, and the well-being of the people, as the state approaches crucial political milestones. (PR)
