On the eve
of the 76th NCC Raising Day, the 2 J&K Battalion of the National Cadet
Corps (NCC) today organized three blood donation camps across the districts of Jammu,
Udhampur, and Reasi. The endeavor, held in cooperation with local
organizations, was aimed at encouraging community service and social responsibility.
The camps
drew an active response from cadets, students, and staff members, who came
forward in big numbers to donate blood for a noble cause. A total of 129 units
of blood were collected during the occasion, displaying the humanitarianism and
dedication of the donors.
This
endeavor was funded by key stakeholders, including Dr. Ashutosh Gupta,
Principal of Government Medical College, Jammu; Dr. Meena Sidhu, Head of the
Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Jammu; the Red Cross Society, Jammu;
and the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society. Their assistance played a crucial
part in the success of the camps.
The blood
donation drive emphasizes the NCC's commitment to encouraging community spirit
and addressing critical social needs. The slogan "Rakt Daan Maha
Daan" stressed the significance of blood donation as a life-saving deed of
compassion.
These
measures by the 2 J&K BN NCC stand as a tribute to the organization's
tireless dedication to nation-building and humanitarian causes. (PR)
