AICC General Secretary, former Union Minister, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Congress leader Shri Sachin Pilot announced the Yuva Udan Yojna, a new scheme promising ₹8,500 per month to unemployed youth in Delhi yesterday. This initiative is part of Congress' guarantees ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5, 2025.

Speaking at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) office, Shri Pilot explained that the program will run for one year and help educated, unemployed youth by providing job training and opportunities to start their businesses. He stated that the scheme would begin if the Congress came to power in Delhi.

The Yuva Udan Yojna is Congress' third major promise for Delhi, following the Pyari Didi Yojna, which offers ₹2,500 per month to females and ₹25 lakh health insurance scheme for all residents.

Shri Sachin  Pilot highlighted that the Yuva Udan Yojna is not just financial aid but a way to develop skills and prepare youth for jobs or entrepreneurship. “This is not free money for doing nothing. It’s about helping young people learn skills and find work. Private companies will train and hire the youth or help them start their ventures,” he said.

He added that the scheme is a tribute to Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day.

Shri Pilot criticized the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for neglecting the youth over the past 11 years. “The BJP was busy building their ‘Raj Mahal,’ and AAP focused on their ‘Sheesh Mahal.’ Meanwhile, the youth were left behind,” he said.

DPCC President Shri Devender Yadav explained that the Yuva Udan Yojna will give unemployed youth a sense of purpose and direction. “Unemployment has risen under BJP and AAP, and many young people have turned to alcohol and drugs. This scheme will help them focus on productive work and improve their lives,” he said.

He also reminded people that Congress had previously transformed Delhi into a world-class city. “We will fulfill the needs of everyone if we come to power. Hogi Har Jarurat Puri—Congress Hai Jaruri,” he added.

Congress leader Qazi Mohd Nizamuddin said that campaigns like Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Devender Yadav’s Delhi Nyay Yatra have given hope to young people in Delhi. “Youth trust Congress to bring positive changes and solve their problems,” he said.

The Yuva Udan Yojna is a major part of Congress' promises for the upcoming elections, aimed at addressing unemployment and improving opportunities for young people in Delhi. (PR)
