The Indian Army has extended its support to the youth and residents of Tinsukia, Assam, by constructing a new badminton court at the Lakla Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Jagun as part of Operation Sadbhavana. This facility, inaugurated on October 25, 2024, aims to promote physical fitness and mental well-being among patients and youth in the district.
The inauguration ceremony saw an enthusiastic turnout of over 100 people, including patients, families, staff, and residents from nearby villages. Attendees enjoyed vibrant cultural performances featuring traditional dances that celebrated the area’s rich heritage. A musical performance by one of the patients highlighted the event, embodying the spirit of resilience and recovery.
The badminton court serves as a key component of the Indian Army’s commitment to assisting individuals recovering from substance abuse. This facility is designed to encourage physical exercise and mental wellness, allowing patients to gain confidence and improve their physical fitness during their rehabilitation journey.
